Name: 24 Hour Slaw Serves: 8-10 Category: slaw, salad Cuisine: American Source: TomDunn Ingredients: 3/4 cup sugar 1 large head cabbage, shredded 2 large red onions, thinly sliced Hot dressing: 1 tsp celery seeds 1 tsp sugar 1 tsp dry mustard 1 1/2 tsp salt 1 cup cider vinegar 1 cup vegetable oil Stir 3/4 cup of sugar into cabbage. Place 1/2 of the cabbage in a bowl. Place onion slices on top, then top with remaining cabbage. Set aside. Combine celery seeds, 1 tsp sugar, mustard, salt and vinegar in saucepan. Bring to rolling boil. Add oil, stirring, and return to heat to boil. Slowly pour boiling dressing over cabbage and onion mixture. Do not stir. Cover and refrigerate at once. Chill for 24 hours. Stir before serving.
