Name: Baked Bean Casserole Serves: 6 Category: Casserole Cuisine: American Source: Anna Ingredients: 1/2 pound ground beef 1/2 pound bacon, cut in 1 inch pieces 1/2 cup chopped onion 1 clove garlic, minced 1/4 cup packed brown sugar 1/4 cup catsup 2 Tbs molasses 1 tsp dry mustard 1 (16oz) can baked beans 1 (15 1/4oz) can dark kidney beans, drained, liquid preserved 1 (15oz) can Great Northern beans Preheat oven to 350F. In an 8-inch skillet over medium heat, brown beef, breaking up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain off fat and set meat aside. In skillet, fry bacon until just crisp. Remove bacon to paper towels. Pour off all but 1/4 drippings. In skillet, saute onion and garlic in drippings for 5 minutes, or until onion is tender. Transfer onion, garlic and drippings to a 2 quart casserole. Combine brown sugar, mustard and molasses in a bowl and mix well. Pour mixture into the casserole and mix in the beans, bacon and ground beef. Mix well. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until hot, and bubbly, adding reserved liquid if necessary.
