Name: Cranberry Relish Serves: makes 4 cups Category: Relish Cuisine: Source: Anna Anna was given this recipe by a friend when we lived in Connecticut. It's unique and is not favored by the "Jellied Cranberry People". We serve it in addition to the Ocean Spray Jellied kind at Thanksgiving. Ingredients: 1 cup water 2 cups sugar 3 cups picked over fresh cranberries 1 medium navel orange 1 tsp ground ginger 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp ground cloves 1/4 tsp ground cardamom 1/4 cup Triple Sec, Cointreau or Grand Marnier Combine water and sugar in saucepan and heat until sugar is dissolved. Add cranberries to pan, bring to boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove cover and simmer another 10 minutes, stirring. Cut orange into quarters and grind in a food processor until finely chopped. Add chopped orange, Triple Sec and spices to the saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes stirring often. Chill before serving.
