Name: Teriyaki Marinade Serves: This recipe was given to us by Capt. Bill Hipple. He ran the paddle-wheel sight-seeing boat on Singer Island when we lived there. Ingredients: 1 tsp ground ginger (or fresh, grated) 1 cup Red Wine (Cabernet, if possible) 1/3 cup brown sugar 1/3 cup soy sauce 1-2 cloves garlic, crushed 2 Tbs olive oil (added by T.Dunn and approved as an option by Captain Hipple, himself, Sir!) Combine the above stuff. 2 Tbs Cornstarch, mixed with 1/4 water Marinate chicken breasts, or whatever for a few hours, not more than 12. Remove meat. Thicken heated sauce with cornstarch, stirring. Grill over medium fire for 8 mins per side, basting with sauce. Serve with rice, topped with sauce. For Kabobs thread cut pieces of meat with pineapple, Red onion, Peppers(green-yellow-red) and mushrooms.
